Jonathan Shardlow is the chair of the Land Use and Litigation practice groups at Gresham Savage. Mr. Shardlow represents landowners, developers and businesses in a wide array of litigation and transactional matters involving land use. His primary emphasis is on California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance and litigation. Mr. Shardlow has extensive experience advising public and private clients on a wide variety of state and federal environmental laws, as well as providing civil litigation services prosecuting and defending claims brought pursuant to these same state and federal environmental laws. He also assists clients with all of the necessary preparation for all documentation required by CEQA and the National Environmental Policy Act, including, notices, exemptions, addenda, negative declarations and environmental impact reports/statements. Mr. Shardlow’s environmental litigation experience includes defending parties against claims alleging violations of CEQA and the Clean Water Act. Additionally, Mr. Shardlow provides counsel and litigation services on land use matters involving development impact fees, development agreements and entitlements, subdivision, general and specific plan adoption and amendments, conditional use permits, variances and zoning. Moreover, Mr. Shardlow is the author of several successful land use initiatives.
